Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Cloud Platform & DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure across AWS and GCP. You will drive Kubernetes, IaC foundations, and secure delivery pipelines.

You'll develop internal developer tooling with Backstage.io, create custom plugins, and advance CI/CD capabilities using GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and modern observability with Datadog.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and managing an internal developer portal (Backstage.io).
• Custom plugin development for Backstage and platform customization using TypeScript/Node.js/React.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP and familiarity with the other.
• Proficiency in IaC principles and Terraform.
• Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of SRE, SLOs, error budgets, and full-stack observability using Datadog.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing an internal developer portal, preferably with Backstage.io.
• Expertise in developing custom Backstage plugins and customizing the platform using TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
• Extensive experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP) and familiarity with the other.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and hands‑on experience with tools like Terraform.
• Solid experience with CI/CD principles and proficiency in building and maintaining pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
