Job summary

SFJAZZ is seeking an On-Call Artist Assistant to support artists and crew during performances at the SFJAZZ Center and Bay Area venues. You will act as a liaison among artists, Production/Stage Manager, Box Office and FOH to ensure on-site needs are met.

The role demands excellent organization, strong verbal and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask under tight show schedules, and ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire. Evening and weekend work is required.

• Highly organized and able to work independently.
• Exceptional verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to direct and manage several tasks of equal priority.
• Maintain productivity under pressure to meet show schedules.
• ServSafe certification required. Must certify within 30 days of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary representative of SFJAZZ for artists and crews, fostering a professional environment.
• Set up dressing rooms, backstage areas and Greenroom per rider requirements.
• Accompany artists to and from the stage or dressing rooms.
• Coordinate backstage passes and guest lists with Artistic Department, Box Office and FOH.
• Coordinate transportation of backstage hospitality and catering for offsite venues.
• Share post-show feedback with the Backstage Supervisor.
• Escort artists to stage and lobby for post-show signings.
• Liaise between artists and drivers to coordinate transportation pre- and post-show.
• Run errands in the neighborhood as time permits.
