Job summary

SFJAZZ is seeking an on-call Entry-level Event Technician to support performances and events at the SFJAZZ Center. You will assist with setup and breakdown of backline, stages, AV gear, banners, and signage, collaborating with artistic, education, development, rentals, and facilities teams.

Responsibilities include transporting equipment to and from storage, supporting on-site events, and helping maintain a smooth show flow.

Summary

SFJAZZ is looking for an Event Technician (on-call). This is an entry-le vel position that pr ovides crucial support to all SFJAZZ Events produced by theArtistic, Education, Develop ment and Rentals departments in addition to assisting the Facilities/Operations department, as needed.

Requirements

Provide set-up and breakdown support for performance and event spaces within the SFJAZZ Center: Lobbies, Joe Henderson Lab and Artist Wing including; installation and strike of backline equipment, portable stages, portable sound systems, banners and signage.

• Facilitate off-site support for SFJAZZ Artistic and Education events by transporting backline and audio equipment as well as providing set-up and breakdown suppor
  


• Transport materials to and from SFJAZZ storage facilities


• Other duties as assigned

Qualification

• Experience in performing arts or concert production field

• A bility to work under pressure in order to retain strict movement of the show schedule
  

• Reliable and dependable, and able to provide a high degree of customer service

Working Conditions

This position is required to work a minimum of 1 shift per 60 days. Evenings/weekends may be required. The position requires the movement of furniture, stage platforms, band and AV equipment. This includes the ability to use a hand truck, maneuver stairs, pushing and pulling equipment and the ability to carry up to 50 lbs. of weight.
