Job summary

Cavender’s is seeking a Receiver to support backroom and inventory operations in a fast-paced retail environment. You will accurately receive, process, and stock merchandise, ensuring items match documentation and are ready for the sales floor.

You will maintain an organized backroom, operate receiving equipment, and collaborate with store leadership to achieve inventory and service goals. A safe, professional work environment and adherence to company policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to accurately receive, inspect, and process merchandise in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to lift, move, and position merchandise up to 50 pounds.
• Safely operate receiving equipment such as barcode printers and handheld devices.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow basic instructions and apply them daily.

Responsibilities

• Support Cavender’s culture and company values.
• Receive, process, and stock merchandise with accuracy, including POs, transfers, returns, and discrepancies.
• Inspect merchandise for quality, tagging, and labeling accuracy.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by organizing back stock and paperwork.
• Operate receiving equipment to support daily operations.
• Keep backroom clean, organized, and safe; assist store team as needed.
• Collaborate with leadership to meet inventory and flow goals.
• Train or guide stockers on receiving processes and backroom organization.
• Report safety, inventory, or system issues to management.
• Arrive on time and maintain professional appearance.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Assist with merchandising and inventory projects.
