Job summary

Kapitus is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and help design, develop, and maintain software for internal users. You will shape architecture, implement backend services in Python with Flask, and leverage AWS (Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB) within an Agile context.

You will also drive deployment pipelines, collaborate with Product Owners, and mentor junior developers while advancing from a senior engineering role toward technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of Python (5 years+) with Flask preferred.
• Experience working in AWS—Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB.
• 2+ years of Salesforce experience.
• 3+ years of deployment pipelines and CI/CD.
• Experience building clean, readable code with modern practices.
• Infrastructure-as-code tools such as OpenTofu and Terraform.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and leadership to deliver from prioritized roadmap.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Growth mindset and willingness to mentor others.
• Experience in financial services or lending is a strong plus.
• AWS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for internal customers from the ground up.
• Define architecture, patterns, and engineering practices for new platform; integrate with legacy apps.
• Develop backend services primarily in Python, with emphasis on Flask.
• Build and integrate solutions using AWS services (Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB).
• Maintain and improve deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes.
• Build and maintain infrastructure with OpenTofu and Terraform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align with product roadmap in an Agile/Scrum setting.
• Partner with Tech Lead and Engineering Manager to ensure scalable development practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
• Mentor junior developers on Python and engineering practices.
