Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer II to independently develop and help design software loved by customers and associates. You will work with a dynamic team across UX, engineering, and product management, building and deploying production applications and ensuring security, resilience, and performance.

You will gain leadership and technical growth while contributing to monitoring and production readiness.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in GoLang and backend API development is an absolute requirement.
• Experience in Grafana, Prometheus and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in writing SQL queries against a relational database.
• Experience in version control systems like Git.
• Experience in frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript/Typescript frameworks.
• Experience in an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java).
• Experience in PostGres SQL and React.
• Experience in relational or NoSQL database technology.
• Experience in cloud computing techniques, CI/CD, and microservice-based architectures.
• Experience with modern debugging and root cause analysis techniques.
• Exposure to security frameworks for user and services authorization and authentication.
• Exposure to creating and executing unit, functional, destructive and performance tests.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product team members to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions.
• Document, review, and ensure quality and change control standards are met.
• Write code/scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring, and tests.
• Develop dashboards, logging, and alerting to proactively address issues.
