Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer II in Atlanta, GA to independently develop and design customer- and associate-facing software across production applications. You will join a dynamic team, learn leadership skills, and contribute to secure, resilient systems with scalable solutions.

You will work with modern front-end and back-end technologies, apply CI/CD practices, and perform debugging and root-cause analyses to ensure high availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in writing SQL queries against a relational database.
• Experience in version control systems.
• Experience in front end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript, Quarkus frameworks.
• Experience in an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java).
• Experience in relational or noSQL database technology.
• Experience in cloud computing techniques.
• Experience in CI/CD tools.
• Experience in a microservice-based architecture.
• Experience with modern debugging and root cause analysis techniques.
• Exposure to security frameworks for user and services authorization and authentication.
• Exposure to creating and executing unit, functional, destructive and performance tests.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX, engineering, and product management to deliver secure, scalable software solutions.
• Document and ensure quality and change control standards are met.
• Develop code, automate infrastructure, monitoring, and tests.
• Create dashboards, logging, and alerting to proactively address issues.
• Participate in agile processes and improve team success.
