Job summary

Genesys is seeking a Software Engineer to build and operate AI-powered, backend microservices for CI/CD. You will contribute to automation, scalability and developer experience while using AI-assisted tooling to accelerate coding and reviews.

The role is hybrid, with offices in Durham, NC or Indianapolis, IN, and requires 3–5 years in software engineering, strong Python backend skills, and cloud experience (AWS preferred).

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience with microservices or distributed systems.
• Proficient in Python for backend applications and automation tooling.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS preferred; Azure bonus).
• Familiar with CI/CD concepts and pipelines, automation tools, and version control.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Kiro).

Responsibilities

• Implement microservices for CI/CD and backend support for deployment pipelines.
• Develop APIs and automation components to improve testing and reliability.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure availability of distributed backend services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in code reviews.
