Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong backend and distributed-systems judgment.
• Experience with Python frameworks (Flask/FastAPI) is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Backend Platform team, providing coaching and ownership.
• Define the platform’s technical vision and roadmap with cross‑functional partners.
• Build next generation backend foundations including database access, caching, and request handling.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure to evolve storage and replication strategies for scale.
• Scale data layer with adaptable stores and read replicas.
• Make failure boring with robust reliability patterns and retries.
• Embed security and reliability into platform design and processes.
• Shape a codebase safe for humans and AI to build on.
• Turn platform improvements into measurable customer impact and throughput.
• Stay close to engineering, guiding architecture and code reviews.
