Job summary

Harvey is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Backend Platform team, shaping the foundations used by product engineers. You will drive architectural decisions, build scalable data access, and implement robust reliability and security measures across the platform.

You will hire and develop engineers, define technical direction, and partner with Infrastructure, Security, and product teams to deliver dependable, scalable software at the center of Harvey’s growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Deep technical judgment in backend architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience building shared libraries, frameworks, or internal platforms.
• Hands-on with Python and frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
• Proven hiring, coaching, and developing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Backend Platform team.
• Define the platform’s technical vision and roadmap.
• Build the next generation of Harvey’s backend foundations.
• Help Harvey scale through better architecture.
• Scale the data layer and move high-volume data efficiently.
