Job summary

Citigroup's technology team in Irving, TX seeks a hands-on Apps Developer to design, build, and deploy microservices. You will work across Java or Python stacks, implement RESTful APIs, and help shape API design and architecture. Expect collaboration with DevOps/SRE on CI/CD and containerized deployments, plus mentoring teammates.

You will participate in Agile ceremonies, ensure observability, and uphold security and governance standards while delivering scalable, high-availability services.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years in Apps Development with microservices in Java/Python.
• Backend languages: Java (Spring Boot) or Python.
• Experience with containers and orchestration tools.
• REST APIs, queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), event-driven architecture.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools and Git version control.
• Strong analytical, data-driven and results-oriented.
• Experience with high-traffic cloud-based services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy microservices using modern frameworks and cloud-native principles.
• Write clean, maintainable code with documentation and best practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions and API design.
• Ensure services are observable with logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Collaborate with DevOps/SRE to build CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor juniors on best practices.
• Ensure security, compliance, and data governance throughout development.
