Job summary

Leidos seeks a backend software developer to advance a web-based Learning Management System used by Navy partners. You’ll enhance server-side modules, implement features, and ensure reliable operation in Linux and Windows environments.

The role emphasizes Java SE, Servlets, JSP, and XML/JSON handling within an agile team, with opportunities for mentorship and growth in a mission-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with strong software development skills.
• About 5 years hands-on experience in backend or server-side development using Java SE/Servlets/JSP.
• Experience with XML/JSON parsing and data integration in LMS-like environments.
• Ability to work in agile teams and obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Willingness to pursue IAT Level I certification after hire (company-supported).

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver backend software solutions in Java SE, Servlets, JSP, and LMS technologies.
• Maintain and extend server-side LMS modules running in Apache Tomcat.
• Develop parser logic with JavaScript and apply HTML5 concepts in LMS workflows.
• Manipulate XML and JSON files for configuration and data integration.
• Utilize ANT and Gradle for build, packaging, and deployment workflows.
• Work in both RHEL Linux and Windows environments with Bash and Windows scripting.
