Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in related field preferred.
• Strong back-end development skills with Java.
• Experience with code testability standards, JUnit/Mockito.
• Experience with SQL Databases (SQL/Stored Procedures, ORM tools).
• Familiarity with scripting and working in a Linux environment.
• Expert in Design Patterns and their uses.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with secure coding standards, dependency management and vulnerability remediation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills.
• Experience with C# or other programming languages.
• Version control (Git).
• Experience working with legacy application modernization projects is a plus.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Machine learning and Python knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade, develop, and integrate existing code
• Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites
• Review software frequently and make any adjustments necessary to keep them running well and up to date
• Work in a small team environment to accomplish long-term goals
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
• Collaborate with peers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
• Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Troubleshoot, debug, and correct for software bugs in live production environment
• Use code libraries to simplify the writing of code
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
