Job summary

Sabre Systems, LLC is seeking a Software Developer, Journeyman to contribute to the Navy's aircraft software systems. You will design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java frameworks, participate in Agile ceremonies, and mentor junior developers.

The role emphasizes scalable architectures, code quality, and collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver mission-critical software for DoD customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field with 5+ years in Java development.
• Proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and Git.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full software lifecycle activities including requirements, design, development, integration, and test.
• Design and architect scalable, high-performance software systems.
• Write clean, maintainable Java code and backend services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and conduct code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers and create technical documentation.
• Stay current with Java technologies and improve existing systems.
