Job summary

Shuru Technologies Private Limited is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager- Backend to lead a team of senior backend engineers and own delivery, technical strategy, and team development across complex systems.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture for scalable services, and partner with Product to shape roadmaps while hiring and growing leaders across fintech, payments, and eCommerce domains.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering management experience.
• Strong backend engineering background with Java or Go.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, APIs, SQL/NoSQL, Kafka or messaging queues.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.
• Strong system design, scalability, reliability, and stakeholder management skills.
• FinTech, Payments, Banking, or eCommerce experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor backend engineers across uno or more squads.
• Own delivery of complex backend initiatives and cross-team dependencies.
• Drive architecture for scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems.
• Guide design across APIs, microservices, databases, messaging, and cloud infrastructure.
• Partner with Product and business teams on roadmap and priorities.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop future engineering leaders.
• Drive hiring, performance management, and team growth.
