Job summary

Speechify in the United States is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs, including public TTS and internal services like payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics.

You will own the full backend landscape, collaborate with cross-functional teams on enterprise integrations, and help align architecture with product strategy while delivering excellent user experiences in a fast-paced, async work culture.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience using TS/Node.js.
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments; deploying high-availability apps on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API and internal services such as Payment, Subscription, Auth, and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions for enterprise clients.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
