Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend engineer to own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, authentication, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API, serving millions across platforms.

Join a 100% distributed team in a remote-first environment, with emphasis on building scalable, robust systems and an asynchronous work culture. You will collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep the backend architecture ahead of product needs.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node (required).
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) highly preferred; working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or another cloud is a plus.
• Habit of sharing work you used to own and delivering tangible results.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the backend APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
• Improve existing services to be faster, cheaper, and more resilient.
• Automate repetitive tasks and create repeatable patterns for the team.
