Job summary

Quantum Technologies LLC Newark, NJ is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, test, and support scalable software services. You will work with Python/Java, REST APIs, and modern web tech in a collaborative Agile team.

You will design data access layers for SQL/NoSQL databases, containerize with Docker, and use CI/CD in cloud/Linux environments. Strong coding, testing, and documentation practices are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience developing REST APIs and working with Spring Boot or a comparable application framework.
• Familiarity with one relational database and one NoSQL database.
• Familiarity with Git, Linux, software testing, Agile delivery, and the software development life cycle.
• Ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver independently while collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services, REST APIs, and modular or microservice-based applications using Python and/or Java.
• Design data access layers and integrations for PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, or comparable databases.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code using object-oriented design, SOLID principles, defensive validation, and appropriate error handling.
• Create unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews, defect resolution, release readiness, and production support.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and CI/CD pipelines across cloud or Linux environments.
• Use Git, Maven, Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, and Jira to support development, documentation, testing, and delivery tracking.
• Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams and communicate technical tradeoffs, delivery risks, dependencies, and progress.
