Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform to join the Fresno team. You will own backend APIs powering payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics for a global user base across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate has strong TS/Node backend experience, hands-on GCP (with AWS/Azure as backups), and a track record of making systems faster, cheaper, and more reliable. Expect collaboration with product, mobile, and web teams in a distributed, autonomous environment.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node (required).
• GCP experience; working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or another cloud.
• A habit of giving away work you used to own, and something to show for the room it created.
• A daily working setup with AI agents described in detail.
• The instinct to verify results via logs, DB state, and actual requests.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and the public TTS API.
• Take on services you didn't write and make them faster, cheaper, and harder to break.
• Ensure correctness before shipping and leave behind checks that keep it correct.
• Automate repetitive parts of your role and expand scope accordingly.
• Turn one-off work into repeatable processes for the team.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers building on top of us.
