Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform in Sacramento, CA, to design, build, and own the backend APIs powering payments, subscriptions, and analytics. You will optimize systems for correctness, latency, and cost while enabling scale across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and web apps.

You will work on services you may not have written, making them faster, cheaper, and more robust, and you will automate tasks to free up time for higher-impact work.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node.
• Experience with GCP and at least one other cloud.
• Ability to automate repetitive tasks and optimize efficiency.
• Strong focus on logs, metrics, and data correctness.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics.
• Improve existing services to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
• Ensure changes are correct before shipping and maintain correctness over time.
• Automate repetitive parts of the role to enable broader impact.
• Support B2B and enterprise integrations built on top of the platform.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to keep backend ahead of product direction.
