Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company reinventing credit, enabling people to pay over time with transparency. We’re seeking a software engineer to design, develop and operate backend systems, with proficiency in Python or Kotlin and experience with distributed architectures, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.

You will work with a global engineering team, own features end-to-end, participate in reviews, and contribute to reliability. Requires 1.5+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing, launching backend systems.
• Proficient in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems and cloud tooling.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver in phases.
• Collaborate with product/design/analytics through ideation and decisions.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts and on-call efforts.
• Contribute to team community via growth and interview participation.
