Ramp is seeking a backend engineer to help power spend controls, approvals, and card transactions at massive scale. You’ll work across features that matter to finance teams, from card issuance to policy enforcement.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, and data, integrate with Ramp’s AI platform, and own end-to-end projects—from architecture to deployment—while ensuring reliability and data correctness across financial systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience (backend or backend-focused fullstack).
• Strong fundamentals in backend systems and API design; Python/Go/TypeScript experience ideal.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, AWS, and modern observability tooling.
• Product sense: balance technical quality with speed and user value.
• Collaborative, thoughtful communicator in high-ownership environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend systems powering spend controls and card transactions at scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data to deliver AI-enabled experiences for finance teams.
• Integrate with Ramp’s internal AI platform to automate spend policy enforcement and anomaly detection.
• Own complex projects end-to-end—from architecture to deployment and observability.
• Partner with Product Platform and Integrations teams to ensure reliability, data consistency across financial systems.
• Continuously improve Ramp’s transaction and policy infrastructure for performance, accuracy, and resilience.
