Job summary

Ramp is hiring a senior backend engineer to own substantial projects from design through production. You’ll turn data from provider integrations into dependable product experiences, building scalable systems that support spend visibility and attribution.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software. You will own complex projects, improve data pipelines, and help shape the third pillar of finance by better understanding AI spend

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating production backend systems (APIs, data models, async workflows).
• Strong judgment on system design, data correctness, reliability, and simplicity when possible.
• Track record of independently owning complex projects and shipping high-quality software.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services and APIs supporting AI spend visibility, attribution, insights, and controls.
• Build and improve integrations ingesting usage and billing information from providers.
• Convert data from integrations into structures for external customers and internal consumers.
• Create reliable data models and processing workflows for spend information accuracy and traceability.
• Own projects from design through launch, monitoring, and iteration.
• Improve reliability, performance, and observability as usage grows.
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering to turn needs into solutions.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship to raise the engineering bar.
