Job summary

Scribe is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join Data Ingestion. You’ll build and optimize services that capture and route activity to the AI pipeline at scale. The role focuses on backend systems, throughput, reliability, and cost, with collaboration across product, design, and other engineers.

You’ll work in a hybrid model based in San Francisco, contributing to high-impact projects used by hundreds of thousands of users. Equity, benefits, and a collaborative culture accompany this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building backend applications.
• Comfortable with unclear problems and fast change.
• Strong Python or Go experience, or willingness to work across Python and Go.

Responsibilities

• Build projects from design to launch.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers and engineers to execute the build.
• Contribute to technical discussions and long-term architecture.
• Uphold engineering practices: review, tests, observability.
• Build and operate high-throughput backend services and storage.
