Job summary

Scribe is hiring a Backend Software Engineer on Data Ingestion to build and operate the systems that capture activity for AI pipelines at scale. You’ll focus on throughput, reliability, and cost, with backend work across queues, storage, and services.

Based in San Francisco, you will join a team that values strong engineering practices, collaboration with product teams, and ownership of end-to-end delivery from design to launch.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Go, or willingness to work across both.
• Familiar with queues, object storage, and relational or time-series databases.

Responsibilities

• Build projects from design to launch on established products and new ones.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers and engineers to execute builds and roadmaps.
• Contribute to technical discussions, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architecture.
• Uphold engineering practices: code review, test coverage and observability.
• Build and operate high-throughput backend services and their data pipelines.
• Improve performance and reliability of services, queries, endpoints and caching.
• Participate in on-call rotations for the systems you build.
