Job summary

Ramp is hiring a backend engineer to power spend controls and card workflows at scale. You’ll work on the engine behind card issuance, spend limits, policy enforcement, and real-time insights.

You will collaborate with product, design, and data teams, and integrate with Ramp’s AI platform. Expect ownership of end-to-end architecture, deployment, and observability in a high-impact fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience (backend-focused).
• Strong backend systems and API design; Python/Go/TypeScript preferred.
• Familiar with PostgreSQL, AWS, and observability tooling.
• Product sense: balance technical quality with speed and user value.
• Collaborative, high-ownership communicator.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend systems for spend controls and card transactions at scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data teams.
• Integrate with Ramp's AI platform to automate spend policy enforcement and anomaly detection.
• Own complex projects end-to-end — from architecture to deployment and observability.
• Partner with Product Platform and Integrations to ensure reliability and data consistency across financial systems.
• Improve Ramp's transaction and policy infrastructure for performance, accuracy, and resilience.
