Job summary

Ramp is seeking a product-minded backend engineer to build the infrastructure and services powering modern growth and marketing. You will translate ambiguous workflows into durable systems and own data models, APIs, integrations, and orchestration for marketers, product teams, and AI agents.

You will collaborate across Marketing, Product Growth, Product, Data Science, Finance, and GTM Platform to drive production adoption and iteration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python or another modern server-side language.
• Experience owning production services, APIs, data models, or distributed workflows.
• Excellent system-design fundamentals, data modeling, reliability, testing, and observability.
• Experience applying AI to real product workflows, or interest with appropriate controls.
• Strong cross-functional communication with fast shipping of measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build backend systems powering AI-native marketing and growth products across multiple domains.
• Create shared incentives infrastructure including eligibility, budgets, authorization, and tracking.
• Enable personalized content across email, sales workflows, and in-product experiences.
• Design reliable orchestration for long-running work, approvals, and safe AI/financial execution.
• Link marketing actions and incentive spend to activation, conversion, and revenue outcomes.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Growth, Data Science, and Finance from discovery to production.
