Job summary

Medix Technology is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and support applications that help teams work with complex healthcare data. You’ll join an established engineering team, build new backend features, improve existing workflows, and help keep production systems running reliably.

The work is roughly 60% development and 40% application support. This role suits a hands‑on software developer with strong Python and AWS experience.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on software or application development experience.
Strong Python, SQL, and AWS skills, including building cloud-native apps.
Experience with relational databases and backend integrations.
Familiarity with source control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
Healthcare data experience, especially medical or pharmacy claims.
Ability to own work while collaborating in a team.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain backend services, APIs, serverless functions, and data processing workflows.
Develop features and integrations using Python, SQL, and AWS.
Work with Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, Glue, S3, RDS/Aurora, Redshift.
Write and tune SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
Investigate production issues, fix defects, and improve performance.
Contribute to automated tests, GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments.
Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and analysts throughout development and ongoing support.
Apply appropriate security controls when handling sensitive healthcare information.
