Tellent is building a Talent Management Suite that helps organizations attract, hire, manage, and grow their people. Its platform combines Applicant Tracking, HRIS, and Performance Management solutions used by more than 7,000 companies across over 100 countries.

We are looking for a backend engineer to build reliable, scalable backend solutions for Tellent Recruitee, an ATS used by thousands of organizations globally; develop new capabilities and modernize the existing codebase to improve

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Elixir or strong backend experience in Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or PHP with willingness to learn Elixir.
• Experience designing and building scalable applications.
• Strong understanding of databases, preferably PostgreSQL, plus Elasticsearch and RabbitMQ.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to existing code.
• Product mindset: weigh trade-offs and focus on quality and reliability.
• Collaborative and willing to pair program; share knowledge with the team.
• Fluent in English.
• Nice to have: experience with large-scale messaging systems; Polish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve reliable, scalable backend solutions for Tellent Recruitee, an Applicant Tracking System used by thousands of organizations globally.
• Develop new capabilities and modernize the codebase to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design and implement solutions that balance technical quality with customer and business needs.
• Take ownership of delivered features, ensuring they are well-tested and maintainable.
• Investigate and resolve bugs and technical issues to maintain a stable customer experience.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to system design and architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with Backend and Frontend Engineers, Design, QA, and DevOps to solve complex problems and deliver product improvements.
