Job summary

Tellent is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to advance our Elixir-based backend, improve reliability, and scale an ambitious Applicant Tracking System used by many customers. You’ll work with a collaborative team alongside Backend and Frontend Engineers, Design, QA, and DevOps to deliver robust product improvements.

Ideal candidates bring Elixir experience (or strong backend skills with a drive to learn Elixir), PostgreSQL know-how, and familiarity with Elasticsearch and RabbitMQ; you’ll own

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Elixir or backend tech with willingness to learn Elixir.
• Experience designing scalable apps and understanding databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch and RabbitMQ.
• Strong debugging and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
• Focus on quality and reliability with pragmatic trade-offs.
• Product mindset and collaborative approach to work.
• Fluent English; Polish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build reliable, scalable backend solutions for Tellent Recruitee.
• Develop new capabilities while modernizing existing code for performance and reliability.
• Design solutions balancing technical quality with user and business needs.
• Take ownership of features, ensure tests and maintainability.
• Investigate and resolve bugs to maintain a stable experience.
• Contribute to system design and architectural decisions with the team.
• Collaborate with Backend, Frontend, Design, QA and DevOps to deliver improvements.
• Participate in pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
