Job summary

Tellent is seeking a backend-heavy product engineer to transform fuzzy AI ideas into trusted interfaces. You’ll own problems end to end—from shaping and building to shipping and validating impact. Expect hands-on Elixir work, collaboration across the stack, and mentoring as you grow within a fast-growing European scale-up.

You’ll join a diverse, remote-friendly team, contributing to scalable architecture and customer-centric product improvements while shaping a company-defining tech transition.

Qualifications

• Experience in Elixir or strong backend experience with other languages and willingness to learn Elixir.
• Proficiency with Typescript or ability to learn Mastra for AI tasks.
• Senior-level judgment and ability to ship features end-to-end.
• Product thinking and data-driven decision making.
• Interest in building AI-powered features and shipped experiments.
• Fluent English communication; Polish is a plus.

About the Role

Our Intelligence team builds the AI capabilities that run across the whole Tellent suite.We're looking for a backend-heavy product engineer who can take a fuzzy"AI should help here"idea and turn it into an interface people actually trust and use.You'll own problems end to end:shaping,building,shipping,and checking whether it moved anything.

Your 12-Month Journey

• First 3 months: You'll get to know the team, our product, and our architecture while contributing to your first meaningful improvements. You'll become familiar with our engineering practices and ways of working, supported by experienced teammates as you get up to speed with our Elixir and AI stack.

• Within 6 months: You'll take ownership of features and contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and improvements to the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the platform. You'll work closely with your teammates to solve customer problems and deliver valuable product improvements.

• After 1 year: You'll be a trusted technical partner within the team, taking ownership of significant parts of the product and contributing to technical decisions and architectural discussions. You'll also help share knowledge across the team through collaboration, pair programming, and mentoring.

What You'll Be Doing

• Building AI-powered features into mature products with real users, not a greenfield demo.

• Working across the stack when the problem demands it (80/20 rule: mostly backend, comfortable following a problem into the frontend).

• Take ownership of the features you deliver, ensuring they are well-tested, maintainable, and meet our quality standards.

• Collaborate closely with Backend and Frontend Engineers, Design, QA, and DevOps to solve complex problems and deliver valuable product improvements.

What You Bring

• Commercial experience with Elixir, or strong backend development experience in technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or PHP combined with a strong motivation to learn Elixir

• Experience with Typescript and Mastra (AI TypeScript framework) or strong willingness to learn it

• Senior-level judgment: you have shipped enough to know when good enough is good enough

• Product thinking: you push back on specs, evaluate trade-offs, prototype cheaply, kill your own ideas when data says so

• Interest in building with AI: hands-on LLM/feature experience is a plus, curiosity and shipped experiments count too

• Communication: fluent English, Polish is a plus
