WRITER is seeking an exceptional software engineer to join our rapidly evolving team in San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle. In this pivotal role, you'll help build the next generation of AI-powered enterprise solutions, designing secure, scalable backend platforms and APIs.

You’ll work hybrid, report to the engineering leadership, and contribute across the tech stack, from auth and security to observability and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with backend systems.
• Experience designing API-driven platform services and distributed systems.
• Hands-on with authentication and security for third-party integrations.
• Cloud-native experience on AWS/GCP/Azure with containers and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, scalable AI integration platforms for enterprise systems.
• Define backend service design for high-throughput, low-latency APIs.
• Lead architecture for identity, auth, and trust across integrations.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to shape roadmap and strategy.
• Drive reliability with SLOs/SLAs, observability, and performance tuning.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.
