Job summary

Northwest Partners is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design, build, test, and operate cloud-native backend services and APIs. You will implement orchestration, domain services, and integration capabilities across enterprise systems, with a focus on security, performance, and production readiness.

You will work in an AI-assisted delivery environment, using AI agents to accelerate development while ensuring code quality, testing, and operational reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in CS or related field preferred.
• Strong backend development experience with Java, Python, .NET, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• Experience with API-first design, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Proficient in AWS, containers, CI/CD, and IaC practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate cloud-native backend services and APIs.
• Implement orchestration and domain services with event-driven patterns.
• Develop integrations with enterprise systems and AI services.
• Maintain high quality through automated tests and security practices.
• Own production readiness, monitoring, incident response, and improvements.
