Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc is seeking a solid, hands-on Back-End Engineer to lead application development for an AI-enabled operational platform. You will build a scalable Azure-based backend that unifies vendor data for real-time health monitoring, incident management, and long-term planning.

Responsibilities include owning feature delivery, designing robust services, collaborating in a small team, and driving architectural decisions with strong emphasis on security and testability.

Qualifications

• Proven production experience in back-end development using Python and .NET (C#).
• Hands-on expertise with FastAPI or comparable modern Python web frameworks.
• Strong architectural skills for reliable, scalable services.
• High standards for code quality, rigorous testing practices, and operational readiness.
• Experience hosting production apps on Azure with identity integration and monitoring.
• Familiarity with policy-driven cloud governance and compliance in enterprise environments.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB preferred).
• Ability to integrate frontend with enterprise identity and authentication standards.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of feature delivery — gather requirements, edge cases, robust designs, and implement solutions independently.
• Design and develop high-quality, secure back-end services on Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with a small team on code reviews and shared delivery outcomes.
• Participate in rapid iteration with end users, translating feedback into secure, scalable enhancements.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and maintain documentation in Azure DevOps.
