Job summary

Core Interface is seeking a Backend Developer to design and build backend services and data-processing pipelines in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes REST APIs, scalable data handling, and collaborating with a small team to maintain and improve existing systems.

The ideal candidate holds TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance, a related degree or equivalent experience, and 5+ years in software development.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or related field or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building APIs and services using REST.
• Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with Linux (preferred) or Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with Git or other source control tools.
• Clear communication skills; comfortable working in a small, collaborative team.

What You’ll Do in This Role

• Design and develop backend services and data processing pipelines using modern configuration management and software engineering practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work/military experience
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience building APIs and services using REST and related web technologies
• Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
• Experience with Linux (preferred) or Windows operating systems
• Familiarity with Git or other source control tools
• Clear communication skills; comfortable working in a small, collaborative team

Additional Strengths That Stand Out

• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or MapReduce
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• DevOps experience building and deploying infrastructure with tools like Ansible, Jenkins, or CloudFormation
• Experience with ElasticSearch, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, or NiFi
• Prior experience supporting IC or DoD mission environments
