Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Back Welder 8 in El Dorado to join our production team. The role involves sub arc welding in 1G/2F and GMAW in 2G/2F, following blueprints and layouts to weld steel components.

You will operate and maintain welding equipment and strive for high-quality results in a structured shift. You must read weld symbols, blueprints, and perform basic math; pass required welding certifications and UT testing; and work with teammates to meet safety and production goals

Qualifications

• Must read weld symbols, blueprints, and perform basic math.
• Pass Submerged Arc Welding in 1G and 2F positions certification.
• Pass Gas Metal Arc Welding in 2G and 2F positions certification.
• Welds must pass UT (ultrasonic testing) with high skill level.

Responsibilities

• Utilize safety devices and wear all required PPE.
• Maintain and operate production tooling and welding equipment safely.
• Produce high-quality welds using GMAW and SAW per blueprints.
• Plan welding operations from blueprints and meet production goals.
• Perform longitudinal shaft welds for full penetration welds.
• Adjust equipment and read labor reporting systems and blueprints.
• Collaborate with coworkers to complete jobs.
