Job summary

Valmont Industries is seeking a structural back welder in Claremore, OK. You will operate a sub-arc welder to weld shafts, gouge and grind areas for ultrasonic inspection readiness, and repair defects under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, safe handling of welding gear, and prior heavy manufacturing experience or relevant trade school training. A strong focus on quality and timely production is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Incumbent to pass an AWS welder qualification test.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or graduation from an accredited trade school with one year of experience.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals and alloys.
• Knowledge of welding procedures and practices; able to calculate formulas using basic math and standard measurements (U.S. and Metric).

Responsibilities

• Operate the sub-arc welder and set up poles for welding.
• Weld, grind, and repair shafts to pass final inspection.
• Repair seaming defects as directed by Quality Inspectors.
• Maintain welding equipment and comply with safety policies.
• Deliver an on-time product with quality and low defects.
