Job summary

LifeStream in Leesburg, FL is seeking a full-time Emergency Evaluation (BA) clinician to provide assessments and crisis intervention for individuals in behavioral health crises or detox needs.

You will conduct thorough assessments, determine care level, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and document interventions and outcomes in EHR. Strong communication and calm decision-making under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of behavioral healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal behavioral health regulations.

Job Purpose

• The Emergency Evaluation (BA) primarily provides assessments and intervention services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and/or seeking substance abuse detoxification services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of individuals in crisis to evaluate their mental health status and immediate needs.
• Determine the appropriate level of care and intervention required for stabilization and safety.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement crisis intervention plans.
• Provide crisis counseling and support to individuals and their families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Coordinate with external agencies and resources to facilitate access to additional services and support.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in crisis intervention and mental health care.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in the provision of emergency mental health services.

Qualifications: Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required
• A minimum of 2-year behavioral healthcare experience required

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively assess and evaluate emergency situations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software applications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to behavioral health services and crisis intervention.
