Job summary

Niterra North America, Inc. in West Virginia seeks a Safety Specialist for our Sissonville facility.

This second-shift, onsite role (2:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday–Friday) coordinates incident investigations, interprets OSHA regulations, conducts safety inspections and job safety analyses, and leads training to maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance. Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience working with OSHA regulations.
• MS Office experience required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with management to develop, administer, and maintain safety programs and related training.
• Maintain and implement safety-related manuals and procedures (e.g., WVSM).
• Coordinate incident investigations.
• Interpret OSHA regulations and serve as an employee resource.
• Track OSHA and DOT-related certifications (e.g., forklift, bloodborne pathogen) to ensure compliance.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state requirements, as well as company policies.
• Perform routine process safety inspections campus-wide.
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses for all areas.
• Lead new hire training on safety awareness and policies.
• Complete industrial hygiene studies (indoor air quality, noise, ergonomics) and recommend improvements.
• Run emergency drills and related training.
• Approve and maintain products that require Safety Data Sheets for GHS compliance.
• Apply ISO 14001, ISO 4501, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.
• Establish, document, and maintain EMS policies and procedures.
• Back up CAR/PAR systems related to OHS and EMS.
• Assist emergency first responders.
• Communicate with other departments and outside parties as needed.
• Serve on Safety and Environmental Committee.
• Manage inventory of PPE-related supplies.
• Travel and/or overtime as required.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
