Job summary

EY is seeking an Assistant Director to lead large, complex government cloud programs in Azure Government. You will translate mission needs into secure, scalable cloud platforms, guide technical direction, and drive delivery across multiple workstreams while developing a high-performance engineering team.

The role balances strategy and hands-on leadership, with accountability for platform health, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement in government and security-constrained environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in engineering with private/public cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
• Azure certifications AZ-104 and AZ-305
• Hands-on IaC & CI/CD with Bicep, ARM, Ansible, or similar
• Containers and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, Helm
• Networking fundamentals for VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing
• Cloud security, governance, identity management and logging
• Windows/Linux admin; scripting with PowerShell
• Experience with government security frameworks and Agile delivery
• Strong written/verbal communication for distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of cloud platform and infrastructure capabilities across multiple initiatives
• Define technical direction for Azure Government platforms
• Establish DevSecOps practices and automation to improve quality
• Make trade-off decisions balancing speed, quality, security, risk
• Lead architecture and design reviews ensuring standards
• Oversee risk, dependency, and issue management
• Influence stakeholders to align priorities without direct authority
• Develop engineering talent through coaching and delegation
• Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement
