Job summary

BMO U.S. is seeking a Principal Azure Platform Engineer in New Jersey to design, build, and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure and platform services.

You will implement landing zones, governance, and reusable deployment patterns while collaborating with cross-functional teams across engineering, security, and risk partners. The role emphasizes DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, and platform tooling to enable rapid, secure cloud adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of cloud engineering, platform leadership, or infrastructure experience.
• Proven experience delivering and operating Azure environments.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale Azure platforms and enabling internal development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Azure infrastructure and shared platform services.
• Implement and maintain Azure landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity, and governance.
• Build Azure PaaS, containers, and managed services as reusable capabilities.
• Ensure platforms meet scalability, resilience, performance, cost efficiency, and reuse.
• Apply DevOps and SRE practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, and operational readiness.
