Job summary

Bank of Montreal is seeking a Principal Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure and platform services. You will deliver reusable deployment patterns and foundational services, while enabling engineering teams to adopt operational excellence.

The role emphasizes hands‑on cloud engineering, DevOps practices, and cross‑functional collaboration with security, risk, data, and cloud teams in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on Azure experience in large‑scale or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Azure cloud infrastructure and shared platform services.
• Implement and maintain Azure landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity, and governance.
• Build Azure PaaS, containers, and managed services as reusable platform capabilities.
• Ensure platforms meet scalability, resilience, performance, cost, and reuse requirements.
• Apply DevOps and SRE practices: CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness.
• Build and operationalize foundational platform services and tooling for engineering teams.
• Partner with engineering teams to provide standardized Azure capabilities and patterns.
