Job summary

BMO U.S. is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer with 8+ years of experience to lead Azure enterprise deployments and cloud strategy. You will architect scalable Azure platforms, build reusable Terraform modules, and drive automation and CI/CD practices across teams.

You will mentor engineers, shape governance and security, and partner with stakeholders to deliver resilient, cost-aware cloud solutions for the bank.

Qualifications

• Architect-level expertise in designing cloud strategies and large Azure deployments.
• Hands-on IaC with complex Terraform modules end-to-end.
• Proven ability to design and run CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Policy as Code strategy and implementation experience.
• Expertise in container infrastructure and Azure networking at scale.
• Broad IT engineering knowledge across security, networking, OS, and identity.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture and design across Azure, setting patterns and standards.
• Own end-to-end delivery from concept to production deployments.
• Develop and maintain IaC modules and landing zones for enterprise Azure environments.
• Define and drive CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Implement security best practices, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, and Zero Trust.
• Ensure governance, cost optimization, and observability strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical direction across projects.
• Engage with product owners and leadership to align cloud solutions.
