Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to lead architecture and delivery of Azure-based solutions across enterprise environments. You will design scalable, secure cloud architectures, define IaC modules, and drive DevOps practices to accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, overseeing governance and compliance, and collaborating with product leaders to translate business needs into technical architectures.

Qualifications

• Architect-level expertise in designing and implementing cloud strategies in Azure.
• Proven Terraform IaC development for large-scale environments.
• Strong DevOps with complex CI/CD pipelines design and implementation.
• PaC strategy and implementation expertise.
• Experience designing container infrastructure at scale.
• Operational processes for large Azure environments.
• Strong programming skills and fluency in Python/Java/JS/C#.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture and design; translate requirements into scalable Azure solutions.
• Own end-to-end delivery from concept to production.
• Design and maintain IaC modules and landing zones for enterprise Azure environments.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines and automation initiatives.
• Define security, governance, and compliance controls for cloud platforms.
• Mentor engineers and drive technical direction across projects.
• Engage with stakeholders to communicate complex concepts clearly.
