Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Principal Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate secure Azure infrastructure at scale in the United States. You will lead foundations, guardrails, and reusable deployments while partnering with security, risk, and cross‑functional teams.

The role emphasizes IaC, DevOps, and platform enablement to accelerate cloud adoption across workloads, with focus on governance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud/platform engineering or related leadership roles.
• Hands-on Azure experience in large-scale or regulated environments.
• Proven ability to design, build, and operate secure, scalable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Azure cloud infrastructure and shared platform services.
• Implement and maintain landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity, and governance.
• Build Azure PaaS, containers, and managed services as reusable platform capabilities.
• Apply DevOps and SRE practices including CI/CD, monitoring, and incident readiness.
• Design IaC patterns with GitHub Actions, Terraform, or CDKTF across environments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and policy enforcement at scale.
• Collaborate with security and risk teams to enforce governance and observability.
