Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with deep Azure FinOps expertise to drive cost optimization and billing administration across cloud operations.

As the sole FinOps expert in Cloud Native Engineering, you will lead forecasting, reservations, dashboards, and cross‑functional collaboration to align cloud spend with business goals. This role requires strong communication, automation, and IaC experience. Experience with Azure Policy and governance is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud engineering with at least 3 years in Azure FinOps.
• Experience with Azure rate optimization: reservations, savings plans, cost analysis.
• Strong collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead FinOps strategy for Azure including cost forecasting and optimization.
• Own Azure billing tasks: reservations, savings plans, cost allocation.
• Develop dashboards to monitor cloud spend and identify savings opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and procurement across geographies.
• Provide guidance on cloud cost management best practices.
• Analyze usage patterns and recommend architectural changes for cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to platform engineering initiatives including automation and IaC.
