Job summary

Delta Dental of Missouri is seeking a Data Science Intern to work on AI-powered solutions in a Microsoft Azure environment. You will develop AI agents, automate workflows, and build backend services, collaborating with experienced data scientists.

The internship is full-time for about four months, 40 hours per week, with a hybrid work setting from home and in-office. Strong Python and ML fundamentals, plus curiosity and teamwork, are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a bachelor's degree in CS, data science, math or related field.
• Experience with Python and libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or OpenCV preferred.
• Familiarity with APIs, SQL, data processing and backend development preferred.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and Azure Functions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of AI agents that assist with dental operations and inquiries.
• Develop Azure Function Apps and backend services to orchestrate AI workflows and integrate APIs and data sources.
• Create automated evaluation tools and test scenarios to assess AI accuracy and reliability.
• Enhance AI capabilities through prompts, data retrieval, tool integration and workflow logic.
• Document workflows and evaluation results to support ongoing maintenance.
