The role focuses on designing axle carriers meeting Dana and customer performance requirements, while collaborating with manufacturing, purchasing, and estimating teams. The position requires a mechanical engineering degree and 3+ years in drivetrain engineering, with proficiency in CAD and GD&T.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in drivetrain engineering in automotive or related industries.
  • Experience with casting, forging, forming, fabricating, stamping, or machining preferred.
  • Bearing, fastener, seal, and/or shaft experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with drawings, GD&T, FEA requests, and CAD software; Teamcenter preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret customer specifications to design axle components, ensuring Dana design practices and interfaces are met.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, purchasing and estimating to ensure cost-effectiveness and manufacturability.
  • Provide technical support to customers, sales, purchasing, and plants during sourcing, development, launch and production.
  • Make key decisions on proposals and priorities following Dana’s Design Review process.
  • Author/review DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, work orders, materials, prototypes, and test setups; evaluate results.
