AWS DevOps Engineer - DoD Cloud & Security

Job summary

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers, seeks an AWS DevOps Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize mission-critical AWS infrastructure. You will implement CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and STIG-hardening to ensure secure, scalable operations for the enterprise HR system.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance, Security+ CE, and hands-on AWS with Oracle-backed systems, plus scripting and IaC expertise. Travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• DoD Secret clearance required or ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.
• Proven AWS DevOps experience with Oracle-backed systems.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Hands-on DoD STIGs knowledge and AWS hardening.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud security frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS services.
• Automate infrastructure with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Maintain STIG-hardened environments and perform security posture reviews.
• Manage patching, configuration baselines, and monitoring for DoD compliance.
• Collaborate with security and ops teams on governance, access control, encryption, and logging.
• Tune AWS resources to optimize performance and cost.
• Develop automation scripts in Python/Bash/PowerShell.
• Support disaster recovery planning and backup recovery testing.
