Job summary

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers, seeks a senior, hands-on Cloud Engineer who treats infrastructure as code and leads security-conscious deployments on AWS GovCloud. You will translate complex requirements into scalable architectures and code-first solutions, communicating with developers, cybersecurity, and leadership.

You will own production deployments, craft CI/CD pipelines, and mentor teammates while partnering with accreditation teams to meet RMF/ATO

Qualifications

• Active secret clearance or eligibility.
• Extensive production infrastructure experience on AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
• Strong IT fundamentals: TCP/IP, OSI, HTTP, DNS, TLS/PKI, load balancing, Linux/Windows admin.
• Ability to write code in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or CDK/TypeScript; IaC mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud infrastructure on AWS GovCloud focusing on security, cost, availability, and operability.
• Build designs using code-first DevSecOps principles; write and review infra-as-code and CI/CD pipelines (CloudFormation).
• Administer and automate Linux/Windows compute platforms for performant delivery.
• Prototype and validate approaches in code before recommendations.
• Lead during outages; troubleshoot from apps to logs, DNS, TLS, and networking.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and accreditation teams to meet RMF/ATO requirements.
• Create architecture artifacts (Diagrams, DoDAF views, cybersecurity docs).
• Brief senior leaders on options, risks, and roadmaps.
• Develop dashboards to drive reliability, security, and cost improvements.
• Mentor engineers and set technical standards.
